Joel Robles Signs For Leeds United:
Robles has signed a one-year contract at Elland Road, until the summer of 2023. A former Spanish youth international, the goalkeeper trained at Atlético de Madrid, with whom he played seven games, before joining Rayo Vallecano as a yielded.
Later, in January 2013, he signed for Wigan Athletic, then in the Premier League, on a temporary deal and played 13 games in all competitions, including the FA Cup final, in which Roberto Martínez’s team defeated Manchester City at Wembley.
At the end of the campaign, Martínez was hired as Everton manager and signed Robles to a five-year deal at Goodison Park. During his time on Merseyside, Robles made 65 appearances in all competitions, before leaving for Betis at the end of his contract in 2018.
In the last four seasons, he played a total of 78 games for Betis and now returns to England for a third spell. The Spanish goalkeeper becomes the club’s eighth signing in the transfer window and will provide further competition for fellow goalkeepers Illan Meslier and Kristoffer Klaesson.
