Walter Bruce Willis died slowly for the first time in 1988. He continued the successful action series in the 90s with “Die Hard 2” (1990) and “Die Hard: Now Only Right” (1995). It got funnier with “Hudson Hawk – The Master Thief” (1991) and more action-packed in “Last Boy Scout – The goal is survival” (1991), Loaded Weapon 1 (1993) and the “Jackal” (1997). Bruce’s best 90s hits came towards the end of the decade with the science fiction film “The Fifth Element” (1997) and the blockbuster “Armageddon – The Last Judgment” (1998).

In 2016 he was named best actor in “The Revenant”. In addition to the film business, Leonardo DiCaprio is a producer, environmentalist and loves models from all over the world.

5. Brad Pitt:

A jeans ad and his body made him famous in the early 90s. William Bradley “Brad” Pitt celebrated his breakthrough as a lover of Geena Davis in the road movie “Thelma & Louise” (1991). After that, Brad Pitt went uphill. Robert Redfort hired him for the lead role in his western epic “A river springs from the middle” (1992). In 1994 he looked back on his life with Tom Cruise as a melancholy bloodsucker in “Interview with a Vampire”. This was followed by even darker appearances in the psychological horror flick “Sieben” (1995) and the war drama “Familiar Enemy” (1997). As a sunny boy and in the boots of mountaineering legend Heinrich Harrer, Pitt shone in “Seven Years in Tibet”. Not to forget his appearance as the sexy devil in “Rendezvous with Joe Black” (1998).

From the 2000s onwards, Brad Pitt went on brilliantly. He shot hits like “Troy” and the popular “Ocean” films with buddy George Clooney. Most recently he dominated the gossip columns. The separation from Angelina Jolie and the mud fight over custody of the six children they shared were in the foreground of the Pitt universe.

6. Harrison Ford:

Harrison Ford became world famous as Han Solo in “Star Wars” in the late 1970s. It would be the beginning of one of the greatest careers in Hollywood. The Indiana Jones series started back in the 80s. In the 90s, the actor continued his success with the series “The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones” (1993) and the short film sequel “Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye” (1995). He shone in the court drama “For Lack of Evidence” (1990), touched us in “In Matters Henry” (1991) and we fevered with him as Doc Kimble “On the Run” (1993). “Indie” made a bang again in “Air Force One” (1999). He ended the 90s in a romantic dispute with Anne Heche in “Six Days, Seven Nights” (1998).

He continued his success straight into the 2000s and finally we were able to experience him again as Han Solo in 2015. Harrison Ford is also considered one of Hollywood’s cleanest and most beloved radiance men. He is committed to the environment and has been married to acting colleague Calista Flockhart since 2002.

7. Tom Cruise:

Since “Top Gun” (1986) Tom Cruise was one of the best actors in Hollywood. In 1990 and 1992 he played alongside his future wife Nicole Kidman in “Days of Thunder” and “In a distant country”. We saw him as a slick officer with a conscience in “A Question of Honor” (1992) and as an equally correct lawyer in “Die Firma” (1993). He gave the nasty vampire Lestat in “Interview with a Vampire” (1994) and finally in 1996 the successful “Mission: Impossible” series started. At the end of the 90s he shot the erotic flick “Eyes Wide Shut” (1999) with his wife, which then heralded the end of their marriage. In 1999 Cruise shone again as a sly entrepreneur in “Magnolia”.

In his private life, the handsome boy attracted attention because of his strange behavior in public and his love for the questionable Scientology sect. He didn’t exactly make himself popular with his shameless advertising for the peculiar current. Despite his missteps, he is still one of the most popular actors to this day. It wasn’t until 2018 that we saw him in another “Mission: Impossible – Fallout”.

8. Keanu Reeves:

A man, a woman and a bus, that was “Speed” (1994) and Keanu Reeves’ big breakthrough as an action mime. As early as 1991 we saw the likeable actor at the side of Patrick Swayze in the surfer thriller “Dangerous Surf”. The next hit followed in 1992 as the unsuspecting Jonathan Harker in “Bram Stoker’s Dracula”. In 1993 he was simultaneously seen in four films “Little Buddha”, “Freaks”, “Much Ado About Nothing” and “Even Cowgirls Get the Blues”. Reeves has had at least two major Hollywood films annually since the mid-1990s. In terms of screen presence, he was one of the best of the time. With the “Matrix” strips from 1999, he finally catapulted himself into the film Olympus. For the fight scenes, he trained hard and learned most of the martial arts techniques shown himself.

In his private life, the mime had to cope with severe setbacks. His good friend River Phoenix died early , as did his unborn child and, shortly afterwards, his partner. Reeves is still active as an actor and has also published two books of life wisdom as digestible food in comic format.

9. Richard Gere:

Gere became known to a wide audience in the 1980s as “An Officer and a Gentleman” (1982). He began the 90s alongside Andi Garcia in the cop thriller “Internal Affairs – Trust him, he’s a cop” (1990). Immediately next, he played with Smiling Queen Julia Roberts in one of the most successful films of the 90s, “Pretty Woman” (1990). We also saw him in the sex drama “Ice Cold Passion” (1992), as a charismatic depressive “Mr. Jones ”and as a dramatic Wild West hero“ Sommersby ”(both 1993). He served us light knight fare in 1995 as “Der 1. Ritter” (1995) with Sean Connery and Julia Ormond. It became more demanding again with the psychological thriller “Twilight” (1996). After all, we were happy to see Gere as a shrewd ex-IRA terrorist fighting Bruce Willis, “The Jackal” (1997).

Everyone wondered, of course, when the sequel to Pretty Woman would be available. But Roberts wanted too much money and no other Hollywood diva wanted to wear the patent leather boots in her place. Finally we saw Gere and Roberts together again in “The Bride Who Doesn’t Dare” (1999). In addition to acting, Richard Gere is known as a buddy of the Dalai Lama and a peace activist. To this day he is active as an actor and lives as an eco rancher in the US state of New York.

10. Matt Damon:

Matt Damon made the big leap from insignificant theater actor to Hollywood star in the late 1980s and especially the 1990s. His biggest success in the 90s was “Good Will Hunting”. Damon wrote the script himself with his buddy Ben Affleck. For a long time, the two tried in vain for a studio that wanted to implement the project with them as a cast.

Eventually Miramax agreed, they brought comedy legend Robin Williams on board and the film became a huge success. As authors, the two received an Oscar and the Golden Globe Award. In 1999 Matt Damon had another big Hollywood hit in Steven Spielberg’s anti-war film, Saving Private Ryan. In the late 90s, we saw him unusually dodgy in The Talented Mr. Ripley, who let his best friend go overboard.

However, we saw his best performances in the 2000s with the ingenious “Bourne” trilogy. He also played very successfully in the “Ocean” films.

11. Nicolas Cage:

Nicolas Kim Coppola, as he is actually called, is the nephew of the famous director Francis Ford Coppola. The 90s were part of the actor’s most successful period. He showed his romantic side in “$ 2 million tip” (1993) and “City of Angels” (1998) alongside Meg Ryan.

The actor was recently in the headlines because of his opulent lifestyle, tax debts and bankruptcy rumors. Maybe the reason why he was back on the screen a lot recently. Cage was last shooting one film after another. However, much more in B-productions or as a supporting actor.

12. Kevin Costner:

Costner’s Wild West epic “He Dances With Wolves” received 12 Oscar nominations. He cleared the trophy 7 times. In the rest of the 90s we saw Kevin Costner as “Robin Hood – King of Thieves” (1991) and the films “JFK – Tatort Dallas” (1991) and “Wyatt Earp – The Life of a Legend” (1994). He was also popular as a quirky romantic guy. In 1992 he made the icy heart of pop princess Whitney Houston melt away in “The Bodyguard”. Everything was already melted in 1995 in “Waterworld” (1995). Another romantic performance followed with “Tin Cup“ (1996) at the side of sexy Rene Russo.

Costner is an enthusiastic musician and tours Europe with his band “Kevin Costner & Modern West”. Otherwise he lives very withdrawn, is married and is committed to nature conservation.

13. Johnny Depp:

As a smart, young handsome cop, Depp was featured in the US series “21. Jump Street “popular. Depp made a lot of films in the 90s and quite a few of them were a bit weird. Most Sucessfull Actress of 90s

Even in his embodiment of “Don Juan DeMarco” in 1995 it was not so clear whether Depp was a fiery lover or just crazy. He has remained true to the weird roles to this day. It got scary in 1999 with “The Nine Gates”, “The Astronaut’s Wife” and “Sleepy Hollow”.

His best performance so far was and is the cult pirate Jack Sparrow. Since the early 2000s he played the peculiar privateer of the seas in “Pirates of the Caribbean” and its sequels. Lately, Depp was unfortunately more in the headlines because of drugs and love problems and frightened fans with his scarred appearance.

14. Anthony Hopkins:

By the early 90s, Hopkins was already a superstar. He learned acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and was seen in renowned theater productions at the beginning of his career. From the 70s he came to Hollywood and the big cinema. In the 90s, he caused a sensation, especially with his role as the gifted and ingenious cannibal Hannibal Lecter.

At the side of Jody Foster, he taught us in “The Silence of the Lambs” (1991) that the lines between good and bad are sometimes difficult to draw. The performance earned him the Oscar for best actor. His appearance as a love-shy butler in “Was vom Tage Left” (1993) and as the father of Brad Pitt and Aidan Quinn in the civil war epic “Legends of Passion” (1994) was also brilliant.

In 1995 we saw him in “Golden Eye”, followed in 1997 by “Tomorrow Never Dies” and in 1999 by “The World Is Not Enough”. In the 2000s he finally gave it to Daniel Craig.

But Pierce Brosnan was also often seen in the cinema in the 90s. In “Mrs. Doubtfire – The Prickly Nanny “(1993) he appeared as the new sleazy new husband of Sally Field. His performance as a weird professor in “Mars Attacks!” Was wonderful and brilliant as a smart art thief with a heart in “The Thomas Crown Affair” (1999).
