She takes private investigation cases. She avoids her past. The first season forces her to confront a mind-controlling villain named Kilgrave, played by David Tennant. Kilgrave is charming and horrifying in equal measure. He is one of the best villains in superhero television history. The show explores trauma with honesty. It does not pretend recovery is easy. It does not resolve things neatly. It is very, very good.

4. Supacell

They do not know each other. One man is trying to save his fiancée. One woman can move objects with her mind. The show takes its time. It builds character before it builds action. The superhero element is linked to sickle cell disease, which runs through the families of all five characters. It is socially aware without being preachy. It is cool without trying too hard. Season 1 holds a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Season 2 is in production.

5. The Flash

It is fast-paced, funny, and full of warmth. The supporting cast is excellent. Grant Gustin holds it together with real likability across nine seasons. The first four seasons are exceptional television. The final stretch drags in places but still delivers. It ran from 2014 to 2023 and became one of the longest superhero series ever made for television.
