How Many Matches And Rounds?
Example: a tournament with 8 teams.

The league uses the circle method: one team stays in place and the others rotate each round, so everyone meets once. Home and away games are alternated to keep things fair.
How Byes Work In A Knockout
A knockout bracket works best with 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64 teams. With any other number, some teams get a bye, which means they go straight into the second round without playing.

- Random Draw on: teams are shuffled, so byes go to random teams.
- Random Draw off: the first teams on your list are treated as top seeds and get the byes. Seeds 1 and 2 can only meet in the final.

- Pick a league if every team should get plenty of games.
- Pick a knockout when you only have one day.
- Agree on tie-breakers before the first match.
- Decide how drawn knockout games are settled: extra time or penalties.
- Leave a few spare days in a long league for postponed games.

How Many Matches Are In A Round Robin?
With n teams playing each other once, there are n × (n − 1) ÷ 2 matches. For 8 teams that’s 28 matches; home and away doubles it to 56.
How Many Matches Are In A Knockout Tournament?
Always one fewer than the number of teams, because every match knocks out one team. 16 teams need 15 matches.
What Happens With An Odd Number Of Teams?
In a league, one team rests each round. In a knockout, some teams get byes into the second round.
Can I Create Home And Away Fixtures?
Yes. Choose League, then Home And Away. The second half of the season repeats every match with home and away swapped.
Can I Add Dates To The Fixtures?
Yes. Add a start date and the number of days between rounds, and every round gets its own date.
How Many Teams Can I Add?
