About The Tool

What Is A Fantasy Football Calculator?

A fantasy football calculator works out how many points a player scores in a fantasy game from what they did in a real match. In Fantasy Premier League (FPL), every goal, assist, clean sheet, save and card is worth a set number of points, and the value often depends on the player’s position.

The GlobeHour Fantasy Football Calculator does the maths for you. Enter one player’s match stats and you get their exact points, a line-by-line breakdown, the effect of captaincy, and “what if” insights such as how many more defensive actions they needed for bonus points. You can then add each player to a gameweek tracker to total your whole team.

It is useful for checking live scores before the official update, settling arguments with friends in your mini-league, comparing transfer targets, and simply understanding why one player scored more than another.

Good to know: this is an independent tool and is not connected to the Premier League or the official Fantasy Premier League game.

Defensive Contributions

Defensive Contribution Points Explained

Defensive contributions reward players who do the hard work without the ball. They arrived in Fantasy Premier League in the 2025/26 season and are now one of the most important ways for defenders and defensive midfielders to score points.

Defenders: CBIT

A defender earns 2 points for reaching 10 combined clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles (CBIT) in a match.

Midfielders And Forwards: CBIRT

Midfielders and forwards need 12 actions, but ball recoveries also count for them (CBIRT: clearances, blocks, interceptions, recoveries and tackles). Reaching the target is worth 2 points.

The Cap

Defensive contribution points are capped at 2 per match. A defender with 10 actions and one with 25 actions both receive 2 points. Goalkeepers do not earn defensive contribution points. The calculator shows a progress bar so you can see how close a player came to the target.

Clean Sheets

Clean Sheets And Goals Conceded

A player earns a clean sheet when their team concedes no goals while they are on the pitch and they play at least 60 minutes. Goalkeepers and defenders get 4 points for a clean sheet, midfielders get 1 point and forwards get nothing.

Goalkeepers and defenders also lose 1 point for every 2 goals conceded while they are on the pitch. One goal conceded costs nothing extra, two or three goals cost 1 point, four or five cost 2 points, and so on. In the calculator, enter only the goals conceded while the player was playing, and the clean sheet is worked out for you automatically.

Extras

Bonus Points, Captains And Chips

Bonus Points

After every match, the three players with the highest Bonus Points System (BPS) score receive 3, 2 and 1 bonus points. BPS uses a wide range of match statistics. Bonus is usually confirmed shortly after the final whistle, so add it in the calculator once it appears in your game.

Captain And Triple Captain

Your captain’s points are doubled. If you play the Triple Captain chip, your captain’s points are tripled instead. The multiplier applies to the whole score, including deductions, so a captain who is sent off loses double the points.

Cards

A yellow card costs 1 point and a red card costs 3 points. If a player is sent off for two yellow cards, choose Red in the calculator. The single red card deduction applies, not two yellow card deductions.

Tips

Tips To Score More Fantasy Points

  • Pick players who regularly play 60 minutes or more.
  • Defenders who make lots of tackles and clearances can earn points even without a clean sheet.
  • Midfielders score 5 per goal, more than forwards at 4.
  • Penalty takers and set-piece takers get extra chances to score.
  • Captain the player with the best fixture and most minutes.
  • Avoid players who pick up lots of yellow cards.
  • Save Triple Captain for a player with two matches in one gameweek.
  • Use the calculator to compare transfer targets after each gameweek.
FAQ

Fantasy Football Calculator FAQ

How Are FPL Points Calculated?

Players earn points for minutes played, goals, assists, clean sheets, saves, penalty saves, defensive contributions and bonus, and lose points for goals conceded, penalty misses, cards and own goals. The values depend on the player’s position.

Is The Fantasy Football Calculator Free?

Yes. It is completely free, needs no sign-up and works on phones, tablets and computers.

How Many Points Is A Goal Worth In FPL?

A goal is worth 10 points for a goalkeeper, 6 for a defender, 5 for a midfielder and 4 for a forward.

What Are Defensive Contribution Points?

Defenders earn 2 points for 10 clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles in a match. Midfielders and forwards earn 2 points for 12 of those actions plus ball recoveries. The points are capped at 2 per match.

Do Midfielders Get Clean Sheet Points?

Yes, midfielders get 1 point for a clean sheet if they play at least 60 minutes. Goalkeepers and defenders get 4 points and forwards get none.

How Do Captain Points Work?

Your captain scores double points. With the Triple Captain chip, your captain scores triple points for that gameweek. Deductions are multiplied too.

What If A Player Gets Two Yellow Cards?

Choose Red in the calculator. A player sent off for two bookings loses 3 points for the red card.

Why Is My Score Different From The Official Game?

Official points can change when match data is reviewed, for example when an assist or goal is credited to another player. Bonus points also take a short time to confirm.

Can I Calculate My Whole Team?

Yes. Calculate each player and press Add To Gameweek. The tracker adds up your team total and stays saved in your browser.

Does This Work For Other Fantasy Games?

The calculator follows Fantasy Premier League rules. Other fantasy games may use different points, so check their rules before comparing.
